The recent Assisted Living Conference held on the 23rd and 24th of January 2026 was a powerful reminder of how dynamic and fast-moving our industry has become. The event was exceptionally well attended, buzzing with administrators, caregivers, innovators, and thought leaders who share a common mission: elevating the quality of life for seniors through compassion, creativity, and forward-thinking solutions.
As a proud Sponsor of this event, from the moment I arrived, the energy was unmistakable. The sessions were packed, the conversations were meaningful, and the speakers delivered a wealth of pertinent information—everything from regulatory updates to workforce strategies to the latest trends shaping resident care. What truly stood out was the emphasis on technology. As we move deeper into a tech-driven world, assisted living communities are embracing tools that enhance safety, streamline operations, and enrich resident engagement. It’s exciting to see how innovation is reshaping the way we support our seniors.
This conference also held a special meaning for me. I recently launched my book, Running An Assisted Living Facility. This is a project born from 11 years of hands-on experience, challenges, and lessons learned as an owner and administrator in the healthcare sector. My goal in writing it was simple: to provide guidance and real-world insight for those operating, managing, or aspiring to open an assisted living facility, adult family care home, or group home. The book is packed with practical ready-to-use forms and documentation to stay organized, compliant and confident. It’s a comprehensive collection of essential templates that support daily operations, regulatory requirements, and resident care.
Although my book launch flyer didn’t make it into the conference giveaway bags as planned, the experience reminded me that visibility isn’t just about materials—it’s about presence, participation, and connection. I had the opportunity to speak with many attendees about the book, share stories, and hear about the challenges they’re facing in their own communities, many were the same ones which I had faced. Those conversations were far more meaningful than any printed flyer could have been.
Events like this reinforce the importance of staying informed and staying connected. Assisted living is evolving rapidly, and the expectations of residents and families are evolving right along with it. Events such as this give us the chance to learn, collaborate, and prepare for the future—together.
I left feeling inspired, energized, and more committed than ever to supporting operators and caregivers through both my work and my writing.
